It has come to my notice about the picture making waves on the social media platform (Facebook), of the Amanyanabo of Opobo Kingdom HRM King Dandeson Douglas Jaja, Jeki V, in a picture with the NIMASA Boss Hon Dakuku Adolphus Peterside. The picture is used in buttressing a point that the king was present in the APC rally held yesterday in Opobo town.
I write to inform the general public that the king of Opobo Kingdom, HRM King Dandeson Douglas Jaja, Jeki V was never in the rally as claimed by the APC social media crews.
The reasons for this level of media propaganda to the person of HRM King Dandeson Douglas Jaja, Jeki V, Amanyanabo of Opobo Kingdom is one that can not be imagined.
The King on arrival from Port Harcourt at about 16.15hrs was intercepted by Hon Dakuku Adolphus Peterside at Opobo waterfront jatty who was about boarding his boat to leave the community after the APC rally for pleasantries purpose. The King of course accepted his greetings and both parties left peacefully.
In Opobo Kingdom, by tradition our traditional institutions are not politically motivated, and political decisions are not ruled by our traditional institutions. Our traditional institutions do not decide who becomes a governor or any other political positions.
I will strongly advice all those involve in this show of shame and insults to our traditional stool to decease from such acts, Opobo people are peace loving people with respect to the traditional institutions.
Hon Meshach Alaputa Jaja, CPA.
Supervisor on Chieftaincy Affairs and
Information Technology.
