BREAK UP YOUR FALLOW GROUND

We are living in a generation where people expect miracles without doing the appropriate thing to get what God wants them to get. In John 19:30 having done all that is required on the cross, Jesus said "it is finished"/ What does that statement imply? He has paid the price. He has bought our salvation. Our redemption is not just near, it is here already. This further implies that aside from taking away our sins, He has taken away our poverty as stated in 2 Corinthians 8:9; "For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich."

So what are we to do to enter the rest God has prepared for us? Hosea 10:12 instructs us to; "Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; BREAK UP YOUR FALLOW GROUND: for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you."

In Deuteronomy 15:4-6, the bible states that; “There should be no poor among you, for the Lord your God will greatly bless you in the land he is giving you as a special possession. You will receive this blessing if you are careful to obey all the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today. The Lord your God will bless you as he has promised. You will lend money to many nations but will never need to borrow. You will rule many nations, but they will not rule over you.

In Deuteronomy 15:11, the bible states  There will always be some in the land who are poor. That is why I am commanding you to share freely with the poor and with other Israelites in need.

It baffles me when I see in the same chapter the Lord said there will be no need to have any poor person in the land, the Lord is also saying there will always be poor people. Is that not confusion? No it is not! 

Some will remain poor in the midst of plenty. Some will remain poor even though Jesus has borne our poverty and said it is finished on the cross. They will be poor not because the devil held them bound. They are poor because they will have not broken their fallow ground. Their ground is still dry and empty.

How do we break our fallow ground? Repent and accept Jesus into your life. Sow seeds of righteousness by being faithful to God in your tithes and offerings. Be faithful to your present employer, work as if you're working for yourself. Do your 15000 naira job as if you're earning 150000 naira. Whatever service you can render in your present employment even if you're not being appreciated for it, don't stop doing it. Learn to save. Invest. Have the mentality of wealth but spend according to your earning. You don't have to impress anyone. Be Prayerful.
